We widen the original cast wheels of your motorcycle! The advantage is that you can then drive wider or even changed in diameter wheels / tires without having to make further changes to the bike. The wheel hubs remain unchanged, only the rim beds are changed. Of course you have to take into account the clearance wheel-chain, wheel-cardan, wheel-belt and the width of the swingarm. In most cases, the original rim widening for motorcycles is also the most cost-efficient way to realize wheel size changes. For widening, the original rim beds are turned on special lathes and then machine-welded to corresponding larger rim beds using the TIG welding process. The weld is no longer visible in the outer area of the rim beds and the rim looks like a "normal" rim. A strength certificate with identification is enclosed. Note: If you are unsure whether your rim can be widened, send us a picture by mail in advance! We will be happy to advise you. Here's why: Cast rims, which have a rim bed, into which no cast spokes run from the inner star, can generally be widened (that's most rims). However, there are also rims where the cast spokes merge into the rim bed. Here, it is usually difficult or even impossible to widen the wheel. Furthermore, the following applies: A rim can be widened by a maximum of 2.0" in the same diameter, e.g. 3.5" x 17" to a maximum of 5.5" x 17". Wider is also possible, but then the diameter of the rim must be increased by 1", e.g. 5.5" x 17" to 10.0" x 18". This can only be determined after measuring the original rims) Important: We manufacture the rims ourselves, which means we can respond to detailed customer requests. So if you have a special design idea - we can make it a reality! We offer here in the store the most common variants of our rims, but are able to produce special designs of all kinds. Otherwise the wheels are plug & play ready to install, no new wheel spacers or other modifications necessary (of course only if original sizes are chosen). We manufacture spoke rims for almost all motorcycles - we have made a picture selection of our already made spoke rims here, which you are welcome to use for orientation. The matching wheel hubs for the rims are manufactured according to the dimensions of your original cast wheels and can thus be installed plug & play without any further modifications in the vehicle (screw on brake discs, mount tires and install). The tires are always mounted in conjunction with inner tubes. We can offer you the original sizes (as with your cast rims) or even (if there is enough space in the swingarm and chain) wider rims. Aluminum rims go up to max. 5.5", stainless steel rims up to 10.0". Information about the choice of wheel hubs: First, decide whether you need a front or rear hub in the variant selection (depending on where the rim will be installed). If you already have suitable wheel hubs, please select "supplied by customer" and send us the wheel hub safely packed by mail (RF-Biketech GmbH, Mühlweg 10, 97702 Nüdlingen, Germany). Here, we will then spoke the selected rim ring. If you do not have a suitable wheel hub, we will manufacture it ourselves. For the front wheel hubs, please measure the inner diameter of your brake discs. If this is max. 75 mm, please select "diameter up to 150 mm", if more than 75 mm, please select "over 150 mm diameter". In the case of a rear wheel hub, generally select "diameter more than 150 mm", unless the wheels are for a single-sided swingarm with central nut mount, in which case select "diameter up to 150 mm". The wheel hubs are made of high-strength aluminum. Of course, we try to make them as light as possible. Standard are 40 spoke holes, but 60 spokes are also possible. The wheel hubs are delivered including mounted wheel bearings (C3 including dust cover). TÜV information: (only Germany) TÜV reports are specific to your vehicle for the aluminum spoke rims, and strength reports as well as certificates are included for the stainless steel spoke rims.
